The blueprint has been there this entire time and it’s just astonishing that after all this, we’re still arriving somewhere that doesn’t take into account the reasons people liked Black Flag to begin with. Published Players can now register for Beta testing the upcoming Ubisoft open sea adventure Skull and Bones. No matter how many delays there are or how long this stays in production, a game that is entirely ship-based is just not going to appeal to most players who literally just wanted Ubisoft to make another Black Flag game, minus all the Assassin’s Creed nonsense. Not allowing you to play pirate on foot in actual combat is a truly absurd decision that will sink this game from the start. Yes, it’s true that the ship combat introduced in Black Flag and then used in a half dozen other Assassin’s Creed games after that is fun, but it’s only half the fun (or maybe not even that much).
